Crab Walks

Description:

Crab Walks are exercises that not only develop upper body strength (primarily the triceps), but also help to strengthen the core.  Proper technique involves keeping your mid-section flat by pushing your hips towards the ceiling and maintaining a solid angle between your body and arms.  For variations, crab walks can be performed going forward, backward, or sideways.

Process:

  • begin in a seated position with legs bent and arms behind your hips
  • raise hip up as far off the floor as possible
  • engage core and walk forward/backward (speed up the tempo to increase the difficulty)
