Description:
Pull Up Half Turns are designed to develop upper body strength. In particular, this exercise challenges the performer to keep a steady rhythm between each pull up. The more you are able to maintain a consistent tempo, the more efficiently you will be able to perform this exercise. For best result, initiate each turn by hollowing the body. To scale, perform standard pull ups.
Process:
- begin in a hang on a bar and engage core
- initiate a hollow position from the toes and lift one arm off the bar to perform a half turn to your desired direction
- after finishing in a mixed hand position, perform a pull up
- as you extend the elbows to return to hang, switch the hand that is in an underhand grip and grab the bar in an overhand grip
- repeat the process
