Straddled-L Hold on Rings

Description:

A Straddled-L Hold on Rings takes a standard straddled-L hold to the next level.  Because of the instability of the rings, it make this position a bit more challenging than holding it on a stationary apparatus like a set of parallettes or parallel bars.  When working on this position on the rings, it will be more advantageous if you have strong core and hip flexor strength, as well as flexibility in the pancake position.

Process:

  • begin on the rings with arms locked out
  • straddle legs so that rings are between the legs
  • engage abs and hip flexors to slowly lift up legs
  • ensure knees are straight and lift legs as high as possible
